Megan Pearson was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia, and grew up in Snellville, Georgia. She graduated in 2002 from George Walton Academy in Monroe, Georgia. From there, Megan went on to Auburn University where she obtained her B.A. in Journalism in 2006. While at Auburn, Megan was an active member in the athletic department serving as a student assistant with the Media Relations department. After graduation, Megan obtained a graduate assistantship in the public relations department with the New York Jets in the National Football League. After finishing her position with the Jets, Megan served in public relations with the Atlanta Braves, and then returned to Auburn to work in the media relations department as the media relations coordinator for Women’s Tennis and Gymnastics.

Megan joins Smith, Welch, Webb & White after graduating from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2011 with her Juris Doctor. While attending Cumberland, Megan distinguished herself as an outstanding member of Cumberland’s Number 5 nationally ranked trial advocacy program and award winning trial team. Megan was selected for the Nat Bryan American Board of Trial Advocates Excellence in Trial Advocacy Award and Scholarship, as well as being distinguished as Scholar of Merit for Advanced Skills in Trial Advocacy. She was also selected as a national member of Order of the Barrister. While in law school, Megan served as an executive member of the Cumberland Trial Board and served as director of the Dean Parham Williams Freshman Trial Competition.   

Prior to graduating law school, Megan interned with the United States District Court Northern District of Alabama under the Honorable R. David Proctor as well as with the Escambia County Public Defender’s Office. In her final year of law school, Megan served in a clerkship with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.  Megan was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2012 and began as an associate with Smith, Welch, Webb & White at that time.

Megan is married to Shane Pearson of Athens, Georgia. They live in Atlanta with their two dogs, a boxer and an American bulldog. In her spare time, Megan is a Girl Scouts of America troop leader with troop 3533. She also enjoys running and flea market treasure hunting with her husband.
