Santana T. Flanigan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Emory University in 2001. As a student, Mr. Flanigan was actively involved in the Emory campus community and published an article in the Postcolonial Studies Online Journal, titled, “Arranged Marriages, Matchmakers, and Dowries.”
In 2006, Mr. Flanigan received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. As a law student, Mr. Flanigan served as the Chief Investigator and Prosecutor of the University of Georgia School of Law Honor Court, and acted as a litigator in the awarded winning Davenport-Benham Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team. Additionally, Mr. Flanigan published an article in the Education Law and Policy Online Journal, titled, "The Georgia Charter School Act of 1998: Staying True to the General Principles Embraced by the Charter School Movement". Mr. Flanigan also served as an intern law clerk for the Honorable Samuel Ozborn, Superior Court Judge for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit and interned with the Family Violence Clinic.
After graduation, Mr. Flanigan clerked for the Honorable Cindy Morris, Superior Court Judge for the Conasauga Judicial Circuit and has practiced law in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to becoming an associate with Smith, Welch, Webb & White, LLC, Mr. Flanigan worked as an associate for the firm of Smith, Welch & Brittain, LLP, from 2008 until May 2011. He became a Manager with Smith, Welch, Webb & White, LLC in January 2014.
Mr. Flanigan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of Wisconsin, and has litigated cases before the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Mr. Flanigan is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. His practice areas include General Civil Litigation, Employment Law and Litigation, Landlord and Tenant Law, Municipal and County Representation, Real Estate Law, School Law and Litigation, and Workers’ Compensation Law.
In 2013, Mr. Flanigan was appointed Chief Municipal Court Judge for the City of Stockbridge. Mr. Flanigan enjoys serving the community as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
