According to a press release, American Honda Motor Company has expanded a recall to cover Accords, Civics, Odysseys, Pilots, CR-Vs and other Honda and Accura models manufactured in 2001, 2002 and 2003. The recall is a result of defective airbags that may inflate with too much pressure in a crash, sending metal and plastic pieces flying toward the driver of the car during an accident. These pieces of metal and plastic could cause additional injuries, or in some cases deaths, to the driver of these vehicles during an accident.
The recall covers over 270,000 Honda and Accura automobiles in the United States. If you have been injured in a car accident while driving a 2001 through 2003 Honda or Accura and believe you suffered additional injury as a result of a defective airbag you should call the personal injury attorneys at Smith Welch Webb & White to discuss your rights.
