Undergraduate: Lumpkin School of Law, The University of Georgia - Juris Doctorate, 1981

I have served as general counsel to the Griffin-Spalding County School District from December, 1996, to present.  In addition, I have worked on behalf of other school districts as a hearing officer in personnel matters, as counsel when the regular attorney is unable to represent the district due to a conflict and when an outside investigator is needed.

From October, 2009, I practiced with my oldest son, Patrick until he was elected Solicitor of the State Court of Spalding County.  When Patrick assumed office as Solicitor I became Of Counsel with Smith Welch Webb & White when they opened their Griffin Office.

I have experience representing other local governmental entities as well as representing clients in matters against local governmental entities.

In addition, I represent individuals in various civil litigation involving family law matters such as adoptions, divorce, custody and child support issues, contract disputes, employment issues, personal injury, wrongful death, probate matters, school law and local government disputes.  I also represent small to medium-size business clients in civil litigation involving a wide variety of issues such as contract disputes, commercial problems, construction disputes and relationships with local government entities as well as business clients in the negotiation and drafting of contracts and other documents, formation of businesses and advising business clients on day-to-day legal matters.
